In the glass
Bright, pale yellow. Fresh white fruit aromas meet citrus nuances and a balsamic background with notes of liquorice. On the palate, fine, elegant bubbles lead from a lively opening to a creamy texture. Acidity carries the wine through to a long, fresh finish, with a clear affinity for food.
The vineyards
The Pinot Noir comes from the Torrent vineyard, planted in 2000 on flat land with deep, cool soils that encourage a delicate expression of the grape. The Chardonnay comes from the Gallego vineyard, planted in 2001 on slightly higher ground with predominantly limestone soils, bringing structure, tension and precision.
How we make it
Harvesting begins with careful selection in the vineyard. Gentle extraction focuses mainly on the first juice, with a yield of approximately 40%. A portion of the Chardonnay undergoes partial fermentation and around three months of ageing in 300- and 500-litre oak barrels, adding complexity while preserving the wine’s character. After blending, the wine undergoes its second fermentation in bottle and spends more than 24 months ageing on its lees, refining the texture and integrating the bubbles.
The 2023 vintage
A dry, warm year with rainfall well below average and a particularly early harvest. High temperatures and water stress reduced yields, producing small, concentrated grapes with high sugar levels and intense aromas. The wines express the conditions of the year through character, structure and intensity.
The estate and our approach
Naveran was established at Can Parellada in 1889, near Torrelavit in Penedès. Its 40 hectares of estate vineyards form a mosaic of hills, terraces and valley floors over marl and calcareous clay soils. The influence of Garraf and Montserrat encourages balanced ripening and elegant, naturally fresh wines. The spirit of Catalan Modernisme inspires a balance between nature, sensitivity and technique, with organic viticulture and precise, artisanal winemaking.
